Stormy September Days

Sky over Braunton

With skys like this there is only one thing to do.......Make Cakes!! My daughter wanted to practice piping icing for her school open day demonstration - I think she did good! Cakes are scrummy too!

mmmm!
There has been a flurry of activity in both the East and West H & G headquarters. After another successful dance event in Hadleigh (Suffolk) at last weekend - bookings are now taking place for Christmas Parties. There are also Christmas Fairs and a couple of fundraisers booked so it is going to be a very busy end to 2012........Hurrah!

Woodbridge 1950's Event

getting a pic for Vintage magazine
I have just got back from sunny Suffolk and our fun 1950's event at Woodbridge....lots of dancing, makeovers and of course tea and cake! Everyone looked fab with hair and make up by Hair Raid Shelters. Hopefully the vintage party people will send more pictures to us as we H & G girls were sooo busy we only managed to take a few!!

Now the preparations are on for the next event on Friday......yep this Friday 21st at Hadleigh! (see our facebook page for all the details)  I'll miss this one :-(
....but I will keep myself busy researching ideas for our first London event, coming up soon which is very exciting, but more of that later.......

Here at H & G we are also getting our Christmas heads on ....lots of Vintage Markets out there to attend and Christmas Parties to arrange....its all go!!

Me Old China!

Every now and again we all have to take stock and we are no exception, we have been putting it off due to the weather situation but

the sun did shine so we have taken full advantage and all the Devon stock came out! Well when I say all, its only the trios that I have catalogued still have tea pots, milk jugs, sugar bowls, teaspoons.................!!

These two glamorous beauties arrived yesterday. They are by Royal Standard. I only have the cups, and they look lovely displayed with my books. But they will be used, I think they are perfect for an afternoon cuppa!

This is me and my brother in Islington, London in 1969. Good luck to all children starting school this week. Do you remember your first day at school?

It's been a while!

The summer holidays are almost over -  so time to stock take.
This summer has not been terribly kind to those of us who relish a garden party, but with the sun set to shine over the next few days it will give me an opportunity to photograph all my china in the garden......and there maybe a chance to catch up with friends for an afternoon tea......this china just begs to be used!!!
